Vancouver Trauma Therapist Carly Goodfellow

About

Hello! I'm

Carly Goodfellow MA, RCC-ACS

When deciding to seek therapy, it is important to choose a therapist that best fits for you. As human beings, we heal in relationship. Building a strong, empathic therapeutic alliance is the foundation of how I practice. Tools are an important part of the work, however, feeling safe, gotten, supported and that you have a compassionate presence by your side is what will truly help you transform.

I am a BCACC Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist. I am a Vancouver trauma therapist have extensive experience and training in Trauma Therapy and working with Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse.

For over 17 years, I have committed myself to training in the art of Psychotherapy as a change bringer. I have a commitment to helping my clients reclaim their birthright of joy, wellbeing and living authentically. I help my clients remove the veils of conditioning, trauma and the effects of negative life experiences that are hindering their ability to feel safe, confident and present in the world and within relationships.

Additionally, I am experienced in Clinical Supervision and am a BCACC Approved Clinical Supervisor. I specialize in helping therapists build confidence and expertise in trauma and complex PTSD treatment.

I pride myself on being a reflexive, ethical practitioner and am committed to my ongoing personal and professional development.

My Approach

RELATIONAL, AFFIRMING, SOMATIC, TRAUMA-INFORMED

No one deserves to go it alone. My approach is relational and integrative which means I will build a therapeutic alliance with you so you can have a healing, transformative experience. It is my wish to listen so you feel heard, understood and that your experience is important. I provide a safe space for you to bring your distress so you can restore inner stability and help you to understand the ins and outs of your struggle so it can be reduced and feel more manageable for you.

My practice is rooted in principles of non-violence, anti-oppressive therapy and is welcoming of all forms of gender expression, cultural background and neurodiversity. I will not judge you but give you compassion and acceptance so you can transform out of pain and struggle into a more free and happy way of being with yourself.

Through this process you will begin to see yourself through a new lens, feel more confident and alive and better able to navigate work and relationships. As human beings we need people and we are not meant to be isolated. We are wounded in relationship, therefore we heal in relationship.

I aim to make you feel welcome and accepted throughout this journey because you deserve to have someone on your side.
